The first thing this homeowner asked about was noise. They work from home in Forest Acres (29204), and a loud, all-day job in the next room wasn't going to happen.
The cat was the reason for the call, though. A few accidents had left odor that hung around in several spots, and the carpet as a whole had stopped smelling fresh. Cat urine is one of the stubbornest smells there is, and it's harder still when the person living with it can't leave while it's treated.

Where the smell actually lives
Jordan, our technician, started by asking what the homeowner had noticed and when, then checked each spot himself. Urine is sneakier than it looks. The stain on the surface is usually the smallest part. The rest runs down through the fiber into the backing and the pad, and that's where the smell comes from.
A surface cleaning can make those spots look better for a while. It never reaches the pad, so the odor drifts back, especially where a cat keeps returning to the same corner. Flooding the area with water is worse. It pushes the urine deeper and spreads it wider.
So the plan was two jobs in one visit:
- Each accident area got our live enzyme treatment, which follows the urine down past the fiber and breaks it down in the pad. Perfumed products just sit on top.
- The rest of the carpet got a regular clean with no soap in it, to lift the dander and everyday buildup that make a room smell stale.
- The entry points and the cat's favorite spots got extra passes.
Very little water went down, so nothing got oversaturated. That kept the odor from being driven deeper, and the carpet dried quickly enough that the workday went on around it. The equipment is quiet enough that the homeowner stayed on calls the whole time Jordan worked, which was the part they'd been most worried about.
The honest part
Jordan was upfront about something at the start. Deep pet odor sometimes takes a second visit, depending on how long it's been soaking in, and we told the homeowner we'd come back if they weren't fully satisfied. Saying so on day one saves everybody frustration later. Old urine that has soaked into the subfloor is a different job again, and we'd tell you so.
This one didn't need it. When Jordan finished, the lingering odor was gone from the room, the carpet looked refreshed, and the fibers felt soft with nothing left in them. The review mentioned his communication and how efficiently he worked, which is the part we like reading most. For someone who works and lives in the same rooms, a house that smells like a house again shows up every single day.

Living with a cat and a carpet
When there's a fresh accident, fold a white towel, press it on the spot, and stand on it for a minute. That wicks up most of the liquid before it reaches the pad, and it's the single most useful thing you can do. Vacuum often enough to keep hair and dander from piling up, and keep mats at the doors. Watch the spots your cat favors for early warning signs, like a faint smell on a humid afternoon. And skip the heavily scented sprays. They mask the problem and leave a film behind.
