St. Andrews is the shortest trip we make. The shop sits on Broad River Rd right at its edge, so a job in St. Andrews Acres or at the St. Andrews Woods townhomes is a few minutes' drive, and for you that usually means easier scheduling.
This part of Columbia follows St. Andrews Rd between I-26 and the Saluda River, near the Harbison shopping area. It's a lot of apartments and townhomes, a good number of starter houses, and a mix of students, young families, and people who want a quick commute. Many rent. Many have roommates. Both are hard on carpet.
Roommate households wear carpet in a particular way. Four people's shoes, a couch that doubles as a guest bed, a desk chair that rolls the same six feet of carpet flat. A chair mat helps. So does a shoes-at-the-door rule, if you can get everyone to follow it.
Short notice, short drive
Being close means we can often fit St. Andrews in with less lead time than a house across town. That helps when the landlord announces an inspection, a roommate's dog has an accident, or you realize the whole family is coming for Thanksgiving. The phone is answered 24/7.
The cleaning won't eat your day, either. Very little water goes down, and you can generally walk on the carpet again about an hour later. In a two-bedroom apartment with one hallway, that counts for a lot. Nobody spends the afternoon stuck in a bedroom.
Getting the deposit back
For renters, carpet is one of the easiest places to lose part of a security deposit: traffic lanes, a spilled drink by the couch, pet spots by the door. A professional cleaning before move-out usually costs less than the deduction would. Book a carpet cleaning for the whole unit through the online scheduler, and mention pets in the notes. Urine that reached the pad needs our enzyme odor treatment first, because a regular cleaning won't get down that far.
Owners can add upholstery, rugs (cleaned in place), and tile to the same visit, which beats taking three mornings off.
Keep the receipt. Some leases require proof of a professional carpet cleaning at move-out, and a dated invoice ends that conversation fast. Snap a few photos of the carpet after we finish, too. Dated pictures of clean carpet are hard for anyone to argue with.
